Ryan Gosling returned for his third stint as host of Saturday Night Live over the weekend, where he tried to put his iconic Ken character to rest… with the help of Taylor Swift.
The 43-year-old actor was supposed to be promoting his new movie The Fall Guy, in theaters May 3, but he used his opening monologue to try to sing through his feelings about leaving his beloved Ken character from Barbie behind.
He then sat down at a piano and began singing the 2012 Taylor Swift song All Too Well, from her album Red, though he was hilariously interrupted by his Fall Guy co-star Emily Blunt.
They both turned the cover song into a duet of sorts, as he honored Ken and Blunt honored her Oppenheimer character Kitty Oppenheimer.
Just a few days after the hilarious cover, Swift took to social media, responding to the cover and hinting she may even bring it on tour with her.

Just a few days after the hilarious cover, Swift took to social media, responding to the cover and hinting she may even bring it on tour with her.
‘All Too Well (Ryan and Emily’s Version) !!! Watch me accidentally catch myself singing this version on tour. This monologue is EVERYTHING,’ Swift said.
She posted the reel to his entire SNL monologue on her Instagram story along with the caption.
She also quote-retweeted the official SNL Twitter’s video of the monologue with the same caption.
All Too Well is one of Swift’s famed break-up songs, which Swift co-wrote alongside Liz Rose.
There are actually two versions of the song – a five-minute-28-second version that was featured on the original Red release in 2012, and a 10-minute version that Swift included on her 2021 album Red (Taylor’s Version).
There has been much speculation that the song is actually about one of her famous exes – Jake Gyllenhaal, who she dated briefly in 2010, though she has never confirmed who the song is about… or if it’s even about someone in particular.
As Gosling began his monologue, he assured the audience there will be no more Ken jokes, because he and Ken, ‘had to break up.’

‘We went too deep, and it’s over, so I’m not gonna talk about it… I actually am gonna talk about it a little bit,’ Gosling said.
‘When you play a character that hard, that long, letting go feels like a break-up, and for processing a break-up there’s really only one thing that will help: the music of the great Taylor Swift,’ he said, before sitting down at a piano.
